Let’s Talk About…Our Oscar Party Menu
Every year we try to get together to watch the Oscars. Party’s at Sarah’s this year, and we need to start working on our nominee-inspired menu. With 10 movies of varying quality to match, we’ve got a lot to think about! Let’s talk about it.
Sarah: The Hummus Locker.
Kimberly: Yes! A Serious Flan.
Sarah: Genius! Pralines: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Saphire.
Kimberly: Dying. District Wine.
Sarah: Maybe something blue for Avatar? Blueberry tarts?
Brian: Only if those blueberry tarts EX-PLODE in yer face!
Kimberly: I feel like we need something less substantial and shallower than a tart.
Sarah: Blue corn tortilla chips?
Kimberly: Maybe just one. Sitting alone in a bowl.
Rebecca: My friend has suggested small bottles of liquor and bags of pretzels for Up in the Air.
Kimberly: Black and white cookies for The Blind Side? I’m guessing the movie’s exploration of race relations doesn’t get much deeper than that.
Sarah: That seems like a safe guess. An Egg-ucation?
Rebecca: How about Inglorious Bratwursts?? And maybe A Serious Manwich?? Just thinking main courses.
Sarah: My husband just suggested Ava-toast to go with our Egg-ucation. Perhaps a rendering of James Cameron’s head in jam?
Brian: And for The Blind Side: one bag of poo, flaming.
Sarah: Best party ever.

OK…I’m voting for A Serious Flan, if anyone’s up for making that!!
And I think our Egg-ucation should feature deviled ones, right?
Blue Ava-tortillas would work and go well with our Hummus Locker.
